New Delhi : Doordarshan, the public broadcaster of India will cover the first edition of India Skills competition live on DD National, DD Urdu and DD India tomorrow, 15 July from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm or till the end. The competition is organized to commemorate Ministry of Skill Development’s first anniversary on 15th July 2016. The Hon’ble President of India Sh. Pranab Mukherjee will be inaugurating the first edition of “India Skills Competition” on the occasion of World Youth Skill Day.
National Skill Development Mission was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 15.7.15; to create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities. The Ministry is responsible for co-ordination of all skill development efforts across the country, removal of disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower, building the vocational and technical training framework, skill up-gradation, building of new skills, and innovative thinking not only for existing jobs but also jobs that are to be created. The Ministry aims to Skill on a large Scale with Speed and high Standards in order to achieve its vision of a ‘Skilled India’.
The opening ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan on 15th July 2016 from 06.00pm to 07.30pm or till the end, while the main competition will be held at Pragati Maidan on 16th and 17th July, 2016 from 10.00am to 05.00pm. Catch the live telecast tomorrow on Doordarshan from 6:00 pm onwards.
