5th Day of indefinite hunger strike of DU’s Law Faculty’s Students

New Delhi : The 2nd season hunger strike of Law Faculty of Delhi University entered 5th day. The students namely, Mithilesh Jaiswal, Brajesh Singh, Nitin Gautam and Ankit Sangwan sitting General Secretary of DUSU are sitting on hunger strike for last 5 days against the mass failure of students in Semestar exams. More than 50% students were failed in the exam conducted in the month of June 2016. The students are demanding promotions, reevaluation, Restoration of supplementary exams, etc. Earlier the students were on the strike and the strike was called off on the assurance of the Dean and the University authorities.

But the authorities backtracked from the promises and the students are forced to go on hunger strike again to get the demands fulfilled. The Dean of Law faculty became completely arrogant and instead of considering the students demands she has suspended the classes without giving any valid reasons.

On the one hand the Dean of Law Faculty is not giving her attention to students demand and working in such a way to destroy one of the best Law College in India. The other side the health condition of Nitin Gautam is deteriorating. The students are coming in large number despite the classes of Law Faculty being suspended to give the moral support to the students sitting on hunger strike.

Today, Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan of Sri K. N. Govindacharya came into support of the demands of students of Law faculty and appealed to the Human Resources Minister to find the solutions of the students’ demands on urgent basis before becoming too late.
