ग्रेटर नोएडा में स्थित विश्व विख्यात शिव नाडार विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में 27 जनवरी तक चलने वाली ‘कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया’ फोटो प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन जाने-माने एयरोस्पेस वैज्ञानिक डॉ. एस एन बालाकृष्णन ने किया। फोटोग्राफर व ट्रेवल राइटर डॉ. कायनात काज़ी अपने भारत भ्रमण के दौरान संजोई हुई यादों को फोटो प्रदर्शनी के माध्यम से कला प्रेमियों के समक्ष रखा है। काजी इससे पूर्व कई राष्ट्रीय व अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर की फोटो प्रदर्शनियों में शिरकत कर चुकी हैं। इसके अलावा वह दिल्ली फोटोग्राफी क्लब की सदस्य भी हैं। काजी का ‘कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया’ श्रृंखला का यह द्वितीय संस्करण है। इससे पूर्व पिछले वर्ष नई दिल्ली स्थित इंडिया हैबिटेट सेंटर में ‘कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया’ श्रृंखला का पहला संस्करण आयोजित किया जा चुका है।
ग्रेटर नोएडा में शिव नाडार विश्वविद्यालय (एसएनयू) के कुलाधिपति और चेयरमैन डॉ. एस एन बालाकृष्णन ने विश्वविद्यालय के पुस्तकालय भवन परिसर में प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किया। इस अवसर पर डॉ. निखिल सिन्हा, कुलपति एसएनयू, राजीव स्वरूप, अध्यक्ष एसएनयू, प्रो. शुभाशिष गंगोपध्याय, निदेशक ह्युमिनिटीज व सोशल साइंसेज एसएनयू मुख्य अतिथि के तौर पर मौजूद थे। डॉ. एस एन बालाकृष्णन, जाने-माने एयरोस्पेस वैज्ञानिक हैं और अमेरिका स्थित मिसोरी यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ साइंस एण्ड टेक्नोलॉजी के एयरोस्पेस और इंजीनियरिंग मेकेनिक्स विभाग में प्रोफेसर हैं। वह प्रसिद्ध टेक्सास यूनिवर्सिटी से एयरोस्पेस इंजीनियरिंग में डॉक्टरेट भी कर चुके हैं।
छायाचित्र प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन करते हुए बालाकृष्णन ने कहा कि देश में यह देखकर अच्छा लग रहा है कि कायनात जैसे युवा फोटोग्राफी के जरिए सामाजिक मुद्दों को उठा रहे हैं। उनके छायाचित्रों में भारत की विविधता की झलक मिलती है। विशेष रूप से भारत के गांवों और उनकी जीवनशैली के दर्शन पाकर, मैं अभिभूत हो गया हूं। इस अवसर पर डॉ. कायनात काजी ने कहा कि बचपन में सामाजिक समस्याओं को देखकर मन पिघल उठता था और उन समस्याओं को उठाने का मन करता था। अब मैंने इन्हें कैमरे के जरिए उठाने का प्रयास किया है। कैमरे की आंखों से सामाजिक समस्याओं को देखती हूं और छायाचित्रों के माध्यम से उन्हें उठाने का प्रयास कर रही हूं। साथ ही हमारा देश सांस्कृतिक व सामाजिक विविधताओं से परिपूर्ण है, इसलिए मैंने विविधता में एकता के विविध रंगो को भी अपने छायाचित्रों में प्रदर्शित करने की कोशिश की है।
कायनात काजी के बारे में:
कायनात काजी फोटो पत्रकार और आगरा विश्वविद्यालय से हिंदी साहित्य में डॉक्टरेट हैं। फोटोग्राफी उनका जुनून है। देश के जानेमाने फोटो पत्रकार ओपी शर्मा की शिष्या कायनात काजी के फोटोग्राफ कई प्रतिष्ठत फोटो प्रदर्शनियों में चयनित और प्रदर्शित भी हो चुके हैं। दिल्ली फोटोग्राफी क्लब की सक्रिय सदस्य कायनात को प्रकृति के विविध रंगों और पुरातात्विक महत्व की इमारतों व प्राचीन शहरों को अपने कैमरे में कैद करना खूब भाता है। लेखन और भ्रमण के दस्तावेजीकरण के लिए फोटोग्राफी को माध्यम बनाया।
देश के प्रतिष्ठित मीडिया संस्थान जागरण इंस्टीट्यूट आफ मास कम्यूनिकेशन से पत्रकारिता में मास्टर डिग्री हासिल करने के बाद लंबे समय तक 14 भाषाओं में प्रकाशित समाचार पत्रिका द संडे इंडियन से जुड़ी रहीं कायनात कविताएं और कहानियां भी लिखती हैं। आगरा आकाशवाणी सेकहानियों का नियमित प्रसारण हुआ है। हिंदी की कई प्रतिष्ठित पत्रिकाओं में कहानियां प्रकाशितहुई हैं। डॉ. काजी वर्ष 2014 में नई दिल्ली स्थित इंडिया हैबिटेट सेंटर में ‘कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया’ श्रृंखला के पहले संस्करण का सफल आयोजन कर चुकी हैं। कायनात फिलहाल ग्रेटर नोएडा स्थित अंतरराष्ट्रीय ख्याति प्राप्त शिव नाडर विश्वविद्यालय में कार्यरत हैं। इसके अलावा कई संस्थानो में फोटोग्राफी विषय पर अध्यापन भी करती रहती हैं।
कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया
‘कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया’ एक यात्रा है आत्म-विश्लेषण की। यह भारत में पिछले चार वर्षों की विविधतापूर्ण यात्राओं का संग्रहण है,जिसे फोटोग्राफर डॉ. कायनात काज़ी ने सहेजकर फोटो प्रदर्शनी के माध्यम से प्रदर्शित करने का प्रयास किया है। उन्होंने देश में नई जगहों को ढूंढा विषय चुना और वहां बिताए विलक्षण पलों को कैमरे में कैद कर लिया। ‘कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया’ का यह दूसरा संस्करण है, पहली बार पिछले वर्ष 2014 में नई दिल्ली स्थित इंडिया हैबिटेट सेंटर में कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया का आयोजन किया जा चुका है।
कायनात ने देश में पुराने शहरों की गलियों, वहां दौड़ते मासूम बच्चों की हंसी, कलाकारों के हुनर में और सीधे-सच्चे लोगों की आखों में अपने विषय को ढूंढने का प्रयास किया है। रंगीन ब्लॉक प्रिंटिंग, समृद्ध मुगलकालीन कला, राजस्थान की प्रसिद्ध मीनाकरी और । लेकिन ‘कलर्स ऑफ इंडिया’ कोई कहानी नहीं मगर जीवन का हिस्सा है। अपने यात्राकाल में उन्होंने कई कहानियां सुनी, कुछ खुद गढ़ी जबकि कुछ का स्वयं हिस्सा बन गई। इसी दौरान हुए अनुभव ने इन्हें भारतीयता के नए मायने दिए।

Kazi’s Colors of India Opens in SNU
Greater Noida: A photo exhibition, one its kind, was inaugurated by renowned aerospace scientist Dr. S N Balskrishnan at globally famed Shiv Nadar University (SNU), Greater Noida. The exhibition named ‘Colors of India’ is showcasing photo memoirs of passionate photographer and writer Dr. Kaynat Kazi. Earlier to this, Kazi has been participated in national & international photography exhibitions and she is also a member of Delhi Photography Club. This would be the second edition of ‘Colors of India’, the first event in this series was held at India Habitat Center, New Delhi previous year.
Dr. S N Balakrishnan, Chancellor & Chairperson, Shiv Nadar University inaugurated the exhibition in Library Building, SNU campus. The exhibition will be open for art lover till 27 Jan 2015. Dr. Nikhil Sinha, Vice Chancellor SNU, Mr. Rajiv Swaroop, President SNU, Prof. Subhashis Gangopadhayay, Director School of Humanities and Social Sciences SNU graced the event as guests of honour. Dr. S N Balakrishnan, Professor of Aerospace Engineering in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Engineering Mechanics at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Dr. Balakrishnan holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Balakrishnan said, ‘It is really good to see that youth like Kaynat highlighting the social issues in India. Her photographs exhibit the diversity in India especially the culture and lifestyle in the Indian village captured in Kaynat’s photographs has truly spellbound me.’
On the occasion, Dr. Kaynat Kazi said that since childhood, she used to feel bad about social issues and many times she thought about highlighting them. Now, she has decided to raise social issues in India using camera and has been trying to exhibit them through her photographs. Also, our country is prosperous with social and cultural diversity and that’s why she has attempted to capture different colors of India in her photographs also.
About Dr. Kaynat Kazi
Dr. Kaynat Kazi is a fervent photographer and travel writer. Kaynat is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Hindi. She has learned the nitty-gritty of photography from the legendary photographer Dr. O. P. Sharma. Kaynat, Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication, loves writing stories and poems. She has worked with The Sunday Indian Magazines published in 14 languages and has done photography for manymagazines. She was associated with All India radio and has been writing for few prestigious magazines & newspapers. As a travel enthusiast, Kaynat has toured various places all over the world.
Also, she has participated in national & international photography exhibitions and she is also a member of Delhi Photography Club. Recently, she staged a photo exhibition of her own collections at Open Palm Court Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
As a social activist, she works for school education of children belongs to slums. At present, she is working with globally renowned Shiv Nadar University. She has been taking Photography classes as a Visiting Faculty in many institutions.
About: Colors of India (A Photo Exhibition)
‘Colors of India’ is an expedition of self-discovery. It is an anthology of four colorful years, a travelogue of infrequently discovered nooks and corners of the largest democracy in the world, India. She decided to travel beyond the clichéd destinations and explored the new places. This is the second chapter of ‘Colors of India’ series whereas the first event was successfully staged at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
She has experienced India through finding out the real flavor of the country in narrow streets of old cities, in the smiles of innocent children running on streets, in the skilled hands of the craftsmen, and in the eyes of the people who are beautiful from within. From colorful block prints, rich Mughal crafts to blue pottery and Meenakari art of Rajasthan, ‘Colors of India’ is more than just a story. In true sense, it is a way of life. In this course, she has heard new stories, created some itself and participated in few events and developed an identity that makes her feel proud to be an Indian.
