News18 के सभी कर्मचारियों के लिए नियम यह है कि उन्हें किताब लिखने या संगठन के बाहर किसी भी तरह से योगदान देने से पहले कंपनी से अनुमति लेनी होगी। यह सभी प्रतिष्ठित मीडिया फर्मों में मानक अभ्यास है। न्यूज18 समय-समय पर कर्मचारियों के ऐसे अनुरोधों को स्वीकार करता है. हमारी हिंदी वेबसाइट के संपादक श्री दयाशंकर मिश्र ने अपनी पुस्तक के लिए न तो अनुमति ली, न ही मांगी, न ही पहले से बताया कि वह कोई पुस्तक लिख रहे हैं।

जब उन्होंने 9 नवंबर, 2023 को बताया कि वह एक किताब लिख रहे हैं, जो दिसंबर में प्रकाशित होगी, तो उन्हें कंपनी के इस आग्रह के बारे में बहुत स्पष्ट रूप से बताया गया कि वह नीति का पालन करें। तथ्य यह है कि उन्होंने अपनी पुस्तक गुप्त रूप से और कंपनी की नीति का उल्लंघन करते हुए लिखी, यह साबित करता है कि उनके पास हमेशा एक छिपा हुआ एजेंडा था, जो कि अपने और अपनी पुस्तक के लिए अधिकतम प्रचार पाने की उम्मीद में नाटकीय रूप से बाहर निकलना था।

सोशल मीडिया पर किताब की तस्वीरों से यह स्पष्ट है कि इस किताब को बनने में काफी समय लगा था। श्री मिश्रा ने बुधवार, 22 नवंबर, 2023 को दोपहर लगभग 2.30 बजे इस्तीफा दे दिया, और उसी शाम – जब वे नेटवर्क18 समूह में कार्यरत थे – उन्होंने एक्स पर एक पोस्ट डाला, जिससे प्रतीत होता है कि उन्हें एक किताब लिखने के लिए निशाना बनाया गया था। सच तो यह है कि वह केवल अपनी पुस्तक को प्रचारित करने के गुप्त उद्देश्य से अपने पद का दुरुपयोग कर रहे थे।

श्री मिश्रा ने अपने नियोक्ता को बदनाम किया है और अपने रोजगार की शर्तों का उल्लंघन किया है। News18 उनके और उन सभी लोगों के खिलाफ कोई भी कार्रवाई करने का अधिकार सुरक्षित रखता है जो जानबूझकर उनका झूठ फैला रहे हैं।

The rule for all employees of News18 is that they should seek and obtain permission from the company before writing a book, or contributing in any way outside the organization. This is standard practice in all reputable media firms. News18, from time to time, grants such requests from employees. Mr Dayashankar Mishra, the editor of our Hindi website, did not seek or obtain permission for his book, or disclose beforehand that he was writing a book.

When he mentioned on November 9, 2023 that he was writing a book, to be published in December, he was told very clearly about the Company’s insistence that he adhere to policy. The fact that he wrote his book surreptitiously and in violation of Company policy, proves that he had a hidden agenda all along, which was to stage a dramatic exit in the hope of getting maximum publicity for himself and his book.

From images of the book on social media, it is clear that the book was a long time in the making. Mr Mishra resigned on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at around 2.30 PM, and that very same evening—while still being employed by the Network18 group—he put out a post on X seeming to suggest that he had been targeted for writing a book. The fact is that he was only misusing his position with the ulterior motive of publicizing his book.

Mr Mishra has defamed his employer and is in violation of the terms of his employment. News18 reserves the right to take any action against him and all those who are deliberately spreading his falsehoods.
