An emergency meeting of the General Body of the Broadcast Editors’ Association (BEA) was held today, where the following resolution has been passed with consensus.

The Broadcast Editors’ Association condemns the unilateral decision of the Opposition Bloc – INDIA – to ‘boycott’ 14 journalists and anchors belonging to renowned news organisations. By singling out a few individuals not only has the opposition alliance risked the lives of our reporters and anchors but also demonstrated intolerance towards individuals. We demand the immediate withdrawal of this list in keeping with well-established democratic principles.
