New Delhi : Doordarshan Delhi recently held a programme in the form of a lyrical tribute by Artists to the martyrs in the presence of their families and the Minister of Defence and the Chiefs of Army, Navy and Air force and Chiefs of Paramilitary forces. The programme named ‘Smarananjali’ – A musical tribute to Martyrs by Doordarshan on the occasion of 50th of the 1965 War is set to be telecast on DD National on 7th December 2014 at 9 am.
It will feature renowned artists like violin maestro L. Subramanium and renowned singer Kavita Krishnamurthy, Mr. Pankaj Udhas and Mr. Suresh Wadkar. The musical tribute will be interlaced with specially choreographed dance performances of memorable patriotic songs by Ms. Manjula Parmesh and Group. An additional attraction is the on the spot painting by renowned painter, B.S. Verma and a dance by soldiers from the Madras Engineering Group(MEG) who will perform to the song “Ma Tujhe Salaam”.
