विधायी विभाग, भारत सरकार के जन सूचना अधिकारी द्वारा लखनऊ स्थित एक्टिविस्ट डॉ नूतन ठाकुर को दी गयी सूचना के अनुसार वर्ष 2014 से आज तक 1420 पुराने तथा अनुपयोगी केंद्रीय कानून समाप्त किये जा चुके हैं. सूचना के अनुसार इनमे सबसे पहले 35 कानून निरसन तथा संशोधन अधिनियम 2015 द्वारा समाप्त किये गए.
इसके बाद वर्ष 2015 में ही 90 कानून, वर्ष 2016 में एक बार में 756 एवं दूसरी बार में 294 सहित 1050 कानून तथा वर्ष 2017 में पहली बार में 105 एवं दूसरी बार में 140 सहित 245 कानून समाप्त किये गए. आरटीआई सूचना के अनुसार यह कार्य विधि आयोग एवं प्रधान मंत्री कार्यालय द्वारा बनाये गए दो-सदस्यीय समिति की संस्तुति तथा मंत्रालयों एवं विभागों से प्राप्त टिप्पणी के आधार पर किया गया.
1420 Central Acts repealed by Modi Govt
As per the information provided by Public Information Officer (PIO) of Legislative Department, Government of India to Lucknow based activist Dr Nutan Thakur, a total 1420 obsolete and redundant Central laws have been repealed so far from the year 2014 till date.
The information says that initially 35 Acts were repealed through Repealing and Amending Act 2015. This was followed by 90 Acts being repealed in 2015 itself, 1050 Acts being repealed in 2016 in with 756 Acts in one step and 294 in another step and 245 Acts being repealed in 2017 with 105 Acts in one step and 140 Acts in another step.
As per the RTI information, this was done on the report of the Law Commission and two member committee constituted by the Prime Minister office along with comments from various Ministries and Departments.
