वन, पर्यावरण तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय द्वारा लखनऊ स्थित एक्टिविस्ट डॉ नूतन ठाकुर को दी गयी सूचना के अनुसार मंत्रालय ने साहसिक बेयर ग्रिल्स द्वारा प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के साथ शूट होने वाले मैन वर्सेस वाइल्ड शो के लिए अत्यंत तेजी के साथ मात्र 01 दिन में ही अपनी अनुमति दी थी.
नूतन को दी गयी सूचना के अनुसार बेयर ग्रिल्स ने 04 फ़रवरी 2019 को सैन फ्रांसिस्को कांसुलेट जनरल से 14 तथा 15 फ़रवरी को जिम कॉर्बेट नेशनल पार्क, उत्तराखंड में शूटिंग करने की अनुमति मांगी. उन्होंने अपने आवेदनपत्र के साथ 16 सदस्यीय दल की सूची तथा भारी संख्या में अतिरिक्त कैमरा, ऑडियो तथा ड्रोन गियर का विवरण प्रस्तुत किया.
सैन फ्रांसिस्को से कौंसल सुमति राव ने 07 फ़रवरी को यह आवेदनपत्र अर्जेंट ईमेल के जरिये विदेश मंत्रालय को भेजा, जिसमे उन्होंने कहा कि बेयर ग्रिल्स जिम कॉर्बेट पार्क में एक विशेष अतिथि के साथ भारत द्वारा अपने विशाल प्राकृतिक संसाधनों की रक्षा तथा बियावान में जीवित रहने के तरीकों पर कार्यक्रम करेंगे. उन्होंने कहा कि शूटिंग 09 फ़रवरी से प्रारंभ होगी. विदेश मंत्रालय के कैलाश भट्ट, प्रचार अधिकारी ने उसी दिन प्रातः 09.13 बजे इस ईमेल को वन मंत्रालय को अग्रसारित करते हुए इसे अति आवश्यक बताते हुए तत्काल अनापत्ति के लिये कहा.
इस पर निशांत वर्मा, डीआईजी, वन, राष्ट्रीय बाघ संरक्षण प्राधिकरण ने 07 फ़रवरी को ही कतिपय शर्तों के साथ 09 से 16 फ़रवरी तक शूटिंग की अनुमति प्रदान कर दी. नूतन के अनुसार इन सरकारी अभिलेखों में कहीं भी नरेन्द्र मोदी का नाम नहीं है बल्कि उनके लिए “एक विशेष अतिथि” शब्द का प्रयोग हुआ है.
Forest Ministry cleared Modi’s “Man vs Wild” in one day for “a special guest”
As per the RTI information provided by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to Lucknow based activist Dr Nutan Thakur, the Ministry had cleared the “Man vs Wild India special” shot by adventurer Bear Grylls with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, at an amazing speed in merely 01 day.
The information provided to Nutan says that Bear Grylls presented his application to Consulate General of India, San Francisco on 04 February 2019, where he sought permission to shoot at Jim Corbett Park on 14 and 15 February.
Along with the application, he gave a 16-member crew list and the list of a very large number of additional camera, audio and drone gears.
Consul Sumati Rao sent an urgent email on 07 February to Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), saying that Bear Grylls will go on an adventure into Jim Corbett National Park along with a special guest to learn what India is doing to protect its vast natural resources and tips on surviving in the wild. She said the filming was to begin on 09 February. Kailash Bhatt, Publicity officer, MEA immediately forwarded it to Environment Ministry at 09.13 AM, seeking urgent clearance at the earliest.
Nishant Verma, DIG, Forest, National Tiger Conservation Authority gave “Mo objection certificate” to this show on 07 February itself for a period between 09 to 16 February, putting a few additional conditions.
As per Nutan, the official documents do not mention the name of Narendra Modi at any place and only use the word “a special guest”.
