Brajesh Kumar Singh : 1998 लोकसभा चुनावों के ठीक पहले ज़ी इंडिया टीवी लांच हुआ था, तत्कालीन EL TV को तब्दील करके। लोकसभा चुनावों की काउंटिग के समय दिल्ली में गोल मार्केट के कम्युनिटी हॉल में अस्थाई स्टूडियो बनाया गया था। उस मेकशिफ्ट स्टूडियो से पहली बार दूरदर्शन के अलावा किसी चैनल ने इतने बड़े पैमाने पर चुनाव कार्यक्रम लाइव मोड में किया था। इससे ठीक पहले जवाहर जी का ये नोटिसनुमा पत्र चैनल के सभी पत्रकारों को भेजा गया था।
इसमें जिन गंभीर मुद्दों पर कवरेज के दौरान ध्यान देने के लिए कहा गया था, आज के इस दौर में विश्वास नहीं होता कि तब कोई प्राइवेट टीवी न्यूज़ चैनल अपने उद्देश्यों में इतना गंभीर रहा होगा। इसे पढिए और पिछले एक दशक में चैनलों के फोकस में हुए बदलाव का अंदाजा लगाइए।

Brajesh Kumar Singh वो चैनलों में बुलेटिन को लाइव पढ़ने की शुरुआत थी, टेली प्रॉम्प्टर किस किस्म के होते थे, आज तो सोचकर भी भय लगता है। अपडेट मोबाइल के जरिये जानकर कागज की चिट बनाकर एंकर्स को देना, वो भी कैमरे से छिपकर, कितना चुनौतीपूर्ण था। पढ़ना भी उतना ही चुनौतीपूर्ण, ऐसे में कभी-कभी गड़बड़ी या फिर गड़बड़ी होने पर घबरा जाना स्वाभाविक था। लेकिन आप उस सदमे से तुरंत बाहर निकलकर बुलेटिन पढ़ने लगी थीं, शायद अधिकतम दस सेकेंड का पॉज रहा होगा।
Brajesh Kumar Singh चंदन जी को पूरी तरह याद है या नहीं, ये तो मुझे पता नहीं, लेकिन आज भी मुझे एक-एक शब्द याद है। आपको एक चिट पकड़ाई गई थी कुछ इलेक्शन अपडेट था। आप खराब लिखावट को पढ़ नहीं पाईं और मुंह से निकला एफ वर्ड। उसके बाद आप घबरा गईं, लेकिन पीसीआर में बैठे सिकंदर भसीन ने जिस तरह से आपको, जो डायलॉग बोलकर सदमे से बाहर निकाला, वो मुझे अब भी बखूबी याद है।

Girijesh Vashistha मैं उन दिनों सिटी चैनल के सिटी हलचल का इंचार्ज हुआ करता था । शानदार आयोजन था । सिकंदर भसीन , बेहतरीन प्रोड्यूसर थे । कार्यक्रम को खत्म करने की जगह एंकर ने ब्रेक अनाउंस किया । सिकंदर ने फटाफट सेटेलाइट का समय बढ्वाया और ट्रासमिशन को लंबा किया गया । सिटी चैनल की टीम ने काफी योगदान दिया था उन दिनों । उमेश उपाध्याय बेहतरीन एंकर थे । ललित जैन शानदार प्रबंधक थे । साथ में कत्याल साहब और चाचू । बेहतरीन दौर था वो । जवाहर जी हमेशा हर चीज में शामिल रहा करते थे । मुझे याद है राजपथ से होते हुए केबल बिछाने में दिक्कत आने के कारण पार्टी दफ्तरों को जोड़ने में बड़ी परेशानी हुई थी । मुझे वो दौर भी याद है जब रजत शर्मा विनोद कापड़ी और सुधीर चौधरी समेंत बड़ी संख्या में जी़ छोड़ गए थे। तब भी जवाहर जी ने ही मोर्चा संभाला था । जी में जवाहर जी की भूमिका हमेशा संकट मोचक की रही । शायद मालिकों में वही मुसीबतों में मोर्चा संभालने भेजे जाते थे । और भी किस्सें हैं उनकी प्रबंधन क्षमता के कभी और मौका मिला तो बयान करूंगा ।
