कल आईपीएस अफसर अमिताभ ठाकुर तथा सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता डॉ नूतन ठाकुर ने पत्रकार जगेन्द्र सिंह के गाँव खुटार जा कर उनके परिवार वालों से मिल कर मौजूदा स्थिति, विवेचना और उनकी सुरक्षा के बारे में जानकारी ली. स्थितियों पर उन्होंने पूरी तरह असंतोष जाहिर करते हुए मुआवज़े और घटना की सीबीआई जांच की मांग की.
इन दोनों ने शाहजहाँपुर घटनास्थल जा कर आसपास के लोगों से बात की और यह निष्कर्ष निकाला कि मौके पर आग पुलिस के अन्दर घुसने के बाद लगी. लोगों ने यह भी बताया कि जिस मुकदमे में जगेन्द्र के खिलाफ पुलिस दबिश में गयी थी, वह पूरी तरह झूठा था.
इसके बाद इन दोनों ने डीएम शाहजहांपुर शुभ्रा सक्सेना से एक बार खुटार जा कर परिजनों से मिल लेने का निवेदन किया तो उन्होंने कहा कि एसडीएम मौके पर गए थे. वह काफी है. उन्होंने कहा, यह विवादित मामला है, इसमें दो तरह की बातें कही जा रही हैं और यदि मौके पर गयी तो मैं भी विवादित हो जाऊंगी. मुआवज़े के बारे में भी उन्होंने कोई संतोषजनक आश्वासन नहीं दिया. नूतन ने कहा है कि डीएम की बातें दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण और प्रशासनिक निर्ममता का सबूत है.

Later they went to the place of incidence at Shajehanpur and concluded that the fire took place after the police entered the house. It was also concluded that the case against Sri Jagendra in which police raided his house was false.
They met he DM Shajehanpur Shubhra Saxena requesting her to at least go once to Khutar to meet the family members to which she said that the SDM has gone to the place and this is good enough. She said this is a controversial issue where two different versions are coming and if she goes there, she will also get tainted. She was equally evasive about the issue of compensation.
Nutan said that the DM’s statements are not only completely callous but also demonstrate the administrative apathy is this case.
