I spoke to a Pakistani friend on skype recently. I told him that while 90% Indians are fools, 95% Pakistanis are fools. The 5% extra marks I gave to Pakistanis is because Pakistan declared itself an Islamic state, while India declared itself a secular state. So there are more fools in Pakistan than in India.

I think the people of India, the Govt. of India, and the Indian army must now be told the truth : a full blown guerilla war, still in its nascent stage , is fast developing in Kashmir, and we are being misled by our jingoistic media having anchors whom I call Don Quixote, Lord Haw Haw, and Dr. Goebbels. The truth is that most of the Kashmiri youth have been thoroughly alienated, and are intensely hostile to India.

That buffoon Anna Hazare was used by that cunning,crafty & over ambitious ‘artful dodger ( see Dicken’s ‘ Oiver Twist ‘ ) Kejriwal to hoodwink the gullible people of Delhi. Now he is trying the same in Punjab and Goa. Kejriwal has no scientific ideas about how to solve the Indian people’s massive problems of poverty, unemployment, malnutrition, healthcare and good education. In his book ‘ Swaraj ‘ he writes that our problems can be solved by handing over power to village panchayats and mohalla panchayats. Anyone who has an idea of the realities of such panchayats knows that they are centres and hotbeds of casteism and corruption. So Kejriwal’s idea is reactionary and stupid.

अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता बरकरार रखने का संघर्ष…

एक जज जब जज होता है तो उसे अपनी जुबान और कलम बन्द रखनी पड़ती है। काटजू Markandey Katju साहब ने बहुत कुछ पढ़ा है, समझा है और जिया है। उनमें अभिव्यक्ति की भूख उसी तरह है जिस तरह सचिन जैसे क्रिकेटर के लिए कहा जाता है कि वह रनों का भूखा है। एक बार जज के खोल से बाहर निकलने के बाद उन्होंने खुद को, अपने विचारों को खुल कर व्यक्त करने का निश्चय किया और इसे वे उसी ब्लागस्पाट डाट इन के उसी प्लेटफार्म पर लिखते हैं जिस पर हजारों साधारण लोग अपना ब्लाग लिखते हैं।

Ban on Cow Slaughter. The Union Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh, at a speech to Jain saints in Indore on Sunday said that he supported a national ban on cow slaughter,  and would try for a consensus on the issue.

खबरों में बने रहने की कला कोई सुप्रीम कोर्ट के पूर्व न्यायाधीश मार्कंडेय काटजू से सीखे। एक चुंबक की तरह वे हर एक-दो सप्ताह में किसी न किसी विवाद को आकर्षित कर लेते हैं। इस विवादप्रियता ने न्यायाधीश के दायित्व से सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद भी उन्हें सार्वजनिक जीवन से ओझल नहीं होने दिया। कई बार वे खरी बात कह जाते हैं। ऐसी, जो शायद सच है और जिसे कहने का साहस किसी और ने अब तक नहीं दिखाया। उनकी छवि एक ईमानदार जज की रही है। लेकिन रिटायरमेंट से पहले और रिटायरमेंट के बाद उनके ज्यादातर सार्वजनिक बयान कभी मनोरंजक तो कभी विस्फोटक होते रहे हैं। प्रायः बहुत बड़े मुद्दों पर दिए जाने वाले ये बयान उनकी निजी मान्यताओं और पूर्वग्रहों पर आधारित होते हैं- ऐसे बातें जो हम आपसी बातचीत में अनायास ही कह जाते हैं लेकिन जिन्हें सार्वजनिक रूप से कहा जाना उचित नहीं है। कम से कम देश की सर्वोच्च अदालत के न्यायाधीश रहे व्यक्ति के लिए जिसे इस बात का अच्छी तरह अंदाजा होना चाहिए कि लक्ष्मण रेखा कहाँ है।
