परमानंद पांडेय के खिलाफ शिकायती पत्र पर सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने बार कौंसिल को दिया कार्यवाही का निर्देश
भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने भारत के बार कौंसिल को निर्देशित किया है कि वह IFWJ द्वारा अपने पूर्व प्रधान सचिव परमानंद पाण्डेय (अब एडवोकेट ऑन रिकॉर्ड) के विरुद्ध प्रदत्त शिकायत पत्र पर कार्यवाही करे| विगत 10 मार्च 2016 को IFWJ ने भारत के प्रधान न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति तीरथ सिंह ठाकुर को आवेदन दिया था कि वकील परमानन्द पाण्डेय “पेशेवर अवचार, उपेक्षा, दुर्व्यपदेशन और कपट” के दोषी है| अपने 20-पृष्ट के ज्ञापन में, जिसमे कई दस्तावेज तथा नियमावली शामिल है, IFWJ ने कहा कि “ पाण्डेय पूर्णकालिक अधिवक्ता( एडवोकेट ऑन रिकॉर्ड : क्रमांक 809, पंजीकृत संख्या 13888, तारीख 14-12-2001, सर्वोच्च न्यायालय) है तथा साथ ही में पूर्णकालिक श्रमजीवी पत्रकार भी है|” ऐसी बात वकील और पत्रकार दोनों के नैतिक आचरण के विरुद्ध है|
My leader and guide Jayasheel Rao
The IFWJ mourns the death of its stalwart and founder S.V. Jayasheel Rao at 88 in Bengluru on 28 April 2016. Since his wife’s death some years ago, Jayasheel Rao felt lonely, melancholy gripping him. From IFWJ view point it must be said to Jayasheel Rao’s credit that he fought and got IFWJ posts on his own. He had no political support like most other office-bearers. He was not gifted the IFWJ secretary general’s post. The then President Attu Raghvan of the CPI had per force nominated Jayasheel Rao as the Secretary General because Raghvan had secured just decimal five percent vote margin in his victory over me in 1981. Raghvan did a wise act by nominating Jayasheel Rao as secretary-general which kept the organization united.

शक्ति संगठन में होती है. टूटन में नहीं. मैं तो हमेशा से संगठन का पक्षधर रहा हूँ. राजनीति क्योंकि मेरा पेशा नहीं है इसलिए राजनीति की वह बारीकियां नहीं जानता हूँ जिनसे पिछले कुछ दिनों से दो-चार हो रहा हूँ. मैं पत्रकार हूँ और अपने पेशे को ईमानदारी से निभाता हूँ. अपनी पत्रकारिता के 23 सालों में पत्रकारिता के संघर्षों को बहुत करीब से देखा और समझा है. मुझे अच्छी तरह से पता है कि ऐसा कोई संगठन नहीं है जो दस-दस बरस तक संवादसूत्री करने वाले के दर्द को समझ सके. कोई ऐसा संगठन नहीं है जो आठ-आठ महीने काम के बावजूद वेतन न पाने वाले पत्रकार को वेतन दिला सके.

पत्रकारों के बंटवारे के ‘जिन्नाओ’, कितने टुकड़े करोगे हमारे! फिल्म ‘जिस्म’ ने अच्छा बिजनेस दिया तो ‘जिस्म-टू’ बन गयी। इसी तरह नागिन-वन के बाद नागिन-टू, आशिकी के बाद आशिकी टू बनी। व्यवसायिक फिल्मों की व्यवसायिक सोच ने फिल्म निर्माण के क्षेत्र में ये ट्रेन्ड शुरु किया था। भारत की आजादी के फौरन बाद भी कुछ ऐसा ही हुआ। नफा-नुकसान की व्यवसायिक सोच के साथ भारत की आजादी की लड़ाई मे मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना का शामिल होना कितना महंगा पड़ा था। जिन्ना की व्यवसायिक सोच की गन्दी सियासत ने भारत का बटवारा करके हमारे देश के टुकड़े कर दिये।

NO NEWSPAPER IS PUBLISHED FROM ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR!
There is no daily newspaper in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar. There are a few small weekly newspapers which do not employ any regular employee. One or two persons are employed by them on hourly basis to bring out the weeklies. It has been stated by Mr. Madhu Sudhan Baidya, Labour Commissioner and Director of Employment Training (Andaman and Nicobar Administration) in his affidavit filed before Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Union Labour Ministry asks UP Government to ensure implementation of Majithia Award
The PMO (Prime Minister’s office) has asked the Union Labour Ministry to coordinate with the State Government of Uttar Pradesh for the implementation of the Majithia Award. In a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the IFWJ requested him to immediately intervene and ensure the implementation of the Majithia Award which has already been notified by the Government of India on 11.11.2011. The writ petitions filed by the newspaper proprietors against the recommendations of the Majithia Award were also dismissed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on 07.02.2014.
Newspapers of J&K feign ignorance about the Majithia Award
The report of the Government of J&K filed in the Supreme Court of India on the status of the implementation of the Majithia Wage Boards filed by the Labour Commissioner Shri Vipra Bhal says that ‘None of the newspapers has been found to be satisfactorily abiding by the recommendations (Majithia Wage Board) citing one or the other ground. The newspaper establishments have, however, been made to understand that they are statutorily obliged to abide by them and any lapse in this regard may result in launching of prosecution against them.’
Majithia Award: it is as dismal in Madhya Pradesh as in other states
The story of Madhya Pradesh is no different from other states as far as the implementation of the Majithia Wage Award. Till date only six states viz. Delhi, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Sikkim have filed their status reports. The situation is in Madhya Pradesh is dismal and the condition of the newspaper employees is as pathetic, if not more, as in other states.
Newspapers of Jharkhand have refused to cooperate with State Government about Majithia Award
All big newspapers coming out from the state of Jharkhand have not even bothered to reply to the queries of the Labour Department. The State Labour Commissioner Shri Praveen Kumar Toppo has filed the report on sworn affidavit. An advance copy of the report has been served on employees counsel Parmanand Pandey, which says that the notices were issued 93 newspapers they have refused to cooperate with required information.
HT, IE among 47 Delhi newspapers have dared not to implement Majithia Award
Except four newspapers namely; The Hindu, The Tribune, The Decan Herald and Bennet Coleman & Company (publishers of The Times of India, Economic Times and Navbharat Times) and one news agency i.e. the Press Trust of India no newspaper/news agency being published from Delhi has implemented the Majithia Award. This has been revealed in the affidavit of the Government of Delhi submitted by Dr. Madhu Teotia, Labour Commissioner of Government of NCT of Delhi.

Sikkim has been the first Government, which sent its report through its Chief Secretary almost a month ago.

Bhaskar obtaining illegal undertaking from employees, IFWJ writes to Delhi CM
Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) has condemned the sinister attempts of Dainik Bhasker management to obtain forcibly the undertaking from the employees that they do not want the Majithia Award. In an email to Delhi Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, Labour Minister Gopal Rai and the Labour Commissioner, the Secretary General of the IFWJ Parmanand Pandey, has requested them to intervene to safeguard the interests of the employees. The IFWJ has also sent a protest letter to the Managing Director of the D.B. Corp Ramesh Chandra Agarwal desist from indulging into gross unfair labour practice of getting signatures from employees.

Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) and its affiliate Delhi Union of Working Journalists (DUWJ) have extended unflinching support to the struggling employees of Dainik Jagran and striking employees of Rashtriya Sahara. In a joint statement, the IFWJ Secretary General Parmanand Pandey and the General Secretary of the DUWJ Chandan Rai have denounced the anti-labour, exploitative and dictatorial managements of Dainik Jagran and Rashtriya Sahara.

Yadav (Secretary-IFWJ) : Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) has strongly condemned the murder of Jagendra Singh, a brave and fearless journalist and social activist of Shahjahapur. In a statement, the IFWJ’s Secretary General Parmanand Pandey has demanded that the Akhilesh government of Uttar Pradesh must immediately sack the State Minister Ram Murti Singh Verma at whose instance the Police Inspector Prakash Rai burnt Jagendra Singh after sprinkling petrol on his body.

Dainik Jagran is guilty of the contempt of the Apex Court
The Supreme Court of India has taken cognizance of the contempt petition filed by the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) on behalf of the employees against Shri Sanjay Gupta, the CEO of Jagran Prakashan Limited. The bench of Justices Ranjan Gogoi and Rohinton Fali Nariman directed the Management of Jagran Prakashan Limited on 13th October to comply with the order of the court for the implementations of the Majithia Wage Boards recommendations within two month, if the same has already not been done.
